Central Park

Central Park is ridiculously close to the EHS building. It’s really nice to be able to easily walk a couple blocks down third avenue past Park Ave, Madison Ave and finally arrive at Fifth Avenue to behold the splendid foliage (and now mostly dead trees) in Central Park. The pond is easily accessible through the Third Ave entrance so you can make your morning, afternoon, or (god forbid) night time jog very scenic – unless you look down when you run, which you shouldn’t because you’ll probably run into a tourist about to take a picture of the pond. Go to Central Park! So what if it’s touristy its a nice escape from the city, buildings and taxi’s that wish they could run you over.

Sleep

I really miss sleeping. I’m tired. I’ve been drinking so much coffee even though I hate it. New York City is amazing, I love it. It does take some getting used to, but it honestly is a great city to throw all of your money away in.

iPod

This past Wednesday, I decided to go to a Barnes & Noble to mooch off of their books to do some homework, and much to my surprise, and I guess everyone else’s, Russell Brand was there!

Russell Brand is a hilarious stand-up comedian/actor who most recently starred in “Get Him to the Greek” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”

He was there promoting his second book,”Booky Wook 2″ which I guess just came out. I was lucky enough to meet him and I even bought his book for him to sign, along with his autograph he gave me a huge hug and a nice kiss on the cheek! He really could not be any nicer, I told him I was a big fan of his stand up and he seemed legitimately happy about it…wait, he’s an actor huh?, hmm…oh well, he was really nice anyway and I’m glad I got to meet him!

Sorry the picture sucks…

Also, I broke my iPod.

Burrito (Just One)

I had a burrito yesterday. For the first time in a month. It wasn’t very good, but still I savored it, then ate four more. There’s a really good Mexican place right around the corner of the EHS building and they deliver so that’s a huge plus because I’m very, very fat.

Food in New York City is amazing, everywhere you go it’s incredible. I think it’s like that because the restaurant business, big or small is so competitive here. Which isn’t all too great for the merchants, but for consumers, like my fat self, it’s really freaking great!

So go eat! I didn’t mean for this blog to be all about food and complaints, but I love food and I hate complaining to people so I just type it out. Yeah, go eat everything you can! Just go to the gym after…

The Metro

The monthly unlimited metro card, that used to be $89 will soon be priced at $105. This sucks, so much. For me, and everyone else, but especially for me, because it’s happening to me, which sucks.

Riding the metro sucks to begin with, its hot under there, people smell, everyone plays the bongos or sings, and you find the weirdest people standing or sitting next to you, but now they’re making it even worse. This post makes no sense, I’m just complaining, this is gonna be bad…

Comix NY

I went to Punchlinemagazine.com’s 5th Anniversary show at the Comix Theatre here in Manhattan, where I was charged $10 for two bottles of water. The club has a two-drink minimum and the cheapest thing is a $5 water. Terrible.

Well, the show went great! I met a few people there and there were a few surprise guest and for the talent and length of the show, $15 dollars + $10 for water, was completely worth it.

I made it even more worth it when I took a bunch of their birthday cake.

The Onion

I love The Onion, I do, I love it so much…that I can’t finish that sentence.

It’s available online, but if you live in the city, The Onion has booths everywhere, so you can pick up an issue and read it on the subway. Pick up four in case one breaks down, its free!

The Onion is a weekly comedic satirical newspaper that also includes great things to do in the city for the week, you really have to check it out if you get the chance you’ll love it and laugh embarrassingly while other people on the subway stare at you and think you’re crazy. Then again, everyone on the subway thinks everyone else is crazy already so you’ve got nothing to lose.

Once Again, I Have Been Looked Over by the Rap Community

So I’m about wrapping up my first month in New York City and well, I’m going to be honest, my rap career isn’t blossoming into what I thought it would. So far no record deal, no Patron in my cup, and no studio time with Kanye West. I haven’t even been taped pouring champagne on a tricked out Impala.

Also, I look awful in cornrows.

I have, however, been making it rain (as diagramed below) twice a week to keep up with appearances. I now see what a horrible mistake that was.

2 Bros. Pizza

2 Bros. Pizza is home of the $1 slice of pizza. Yes, in the same island you find a $2,500 ice cream sundae, you also find an enormous slice of cheese pizza for only 99 cents. No tax. NO TAX!

The slice is honestly THE BEST slice of pizza (found in New York City for 99 cents).

If you’re not really into cheese slices, they have pepperoni slices or mushroom slices for $1.50 as well, that is amazing anywhere! Go there! Get 5 slices in case one breaks down, you’ll love it!

And they’re open 24/7! But, at night when all of the drunk people in the East Village are starving they only have cheese slices to speed up the line.

l

Tip: While biting the slice, remember it only cost you a dollar, makes the pizza taste better.

So yeah, go there, it’s good.

Louis C.K

This Friday Louis CK will be performing at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, MA. Louis CK is one of my favorite stand up comedians, he is probably considered the funniest out there right now. He is playing six shows, two on Friday, two on Saturday and you guessed it, nine on Sunday.

I actually really love going to Boston, despite it being home to the Celtics. I had an amazing time last time I went and I really can’t wait to go back so I’m pretty excited.

Louis CK is ridiculously hilarious, I highly recommend youtube-ing him and checking out some of his routines along with clips from his TV show “Louie” which airs on FX.

Yes, I could have completely organized this better, but football’s on…
