As you step in, the first thing you notice is the deliciously overpoweringly permeating scent of chocolate. The entire place is decorated in every shade of chocolate imaginable. In case the gargantuan churning pot of hot chocolate isn’t enough to tempt you into falling victim to the sinfully delectable treats, the window display of inventive yet appetizing desserts will without a doubt win you over.
Today was my first ever experience at Max Brenner and let me tell you, they are not kidding when they say “Max Brenner, the bald man, is creating a new chocolate culture.” I had the fortune of being accompanied by three friends and after salivating over the menu for quite a while, we decided to split the Tutti Frutti Waffles and half a Bad Boy Chocolate Pizza.
We first had the Chocolate Pizza and mm Mmm MMM is it a bad boy. It is essentially a new take on the classic smore, except that they use dough and make the smore in the shape of a pizza. It had the perfect balance of chocolate and marshmallows which were still a bit crunchy yet melted on the inside.
The Tutti Frutti Waffles were even more enthralling. They were made perfectly, crunchy but not overcooked at the edges and were topped with juicy strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They had a caramel sauce in a small mini vase-shaped container and a bowl of crispy chocolate covered somethings which we guessed were either corn pops or cereal or rice. The overall experience was scrumptious, I definitely wish to return… once I digest tonight’s intake… in a month or so.

Flashback to the 60′s »« Living The Tony’s
It was a spur of the moment decision. After 20 minutes (mostly because I could not find my EHS card) we left our room armed with umbrellas and rainboots in order to brave the tempest that stood between us and Radio City Music Hall.
You see, ever since the first time I came to New York, I have mostly spent my time in the city focused on one thing: Theater. This would probably come as a surprise to many who don’t know me too well since I do enjoy museums, shopping, sightseeing and such, but there is something about experiencing living, breathing art that is just too tempting for me to resist.
When I found out my roommate was also an avid Broadway fan, I told her about the possibility of going to see the stars of our favorite shows walk the red carpet into the Tony Awards. She immediately signed up and reminded me of the event this sunday. As she hunted down boots for her to wear in the rain, we ended up recruiting another friend to partake in our little adventure. We walked over to the subway station, and once we got on the metro, waited impatiently to make our way to our destination. We got out of the subway and trekked a few blocks through the downpour until we finally found the red carpet.
After standing in the rain for a little over an hour, we were rewarded by appearances of big names such as Idina Menzel, Lea Michele, Jonathan Groff, Laura Bell Bundy, Catherine Zeta Jones, Green Day, Kelsey Grammer, Daniel Radcliffe, and Liev Schreiber. We screamed and acted as crazed fans usually do and left the scene feeling utterly thrilled. As soon as we got home we tuned in to watch the actual show and now we have a pretty long list of shows we absolutely HAVE to see.
