SPRING BREAAKKK!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 13, 2012 by

Woohooo, it’s Spring Break 2012, baby!!!

Most of us NYers are on Spring Break this week, and we couldn’t have caught a better week off! :-) The weather here in NYC is in the mid 60s-70s, and everyone is ready to get outside in their shorts, including myself! I have successfully worn my new boat shoes, shorts and a t shirt for the last 3 days, and I continue to do so for the rest of the week! :-)

Are you on Spring Break? If so, what are your plans?! I’m just happy to have an extra week to do all of my homework from last week.. hahahaha!! ;-) At the end of April I’m going to see my friend in North Carolina, and I’m just going to say that that’s my Spring Break ‘official’ vacation!

I finally got Instagram, so now it will be a lot easier to share my photos via Twitter now! I usually post them on FB too, so if you’re not a tweeter, no worries, you’ll still be able to see them! :-) You know me and my picture taking.. I’m obsessed! If I ever have children, I’ll probably be that crazy mother always taking photos! Haha, yikes!

Well I’m working today from 12-5, so come visit! Don’t forget about me and RA Khiry’s St. Patricks Day Parade even this Saturday! :-) Woohooo!! I hope to see you all there!

Midterm Week/March Madness

Posted in Uncategorized on March 9, 2012 by

WHAT A WEEK!!

Wow.. with midterms and March Madness, I’m going absolutely crazy! By now you know I’m a huge college hoops fan, and living next to MSG for March Madness is like living on another planet! EVERYTHING revolves around  33d and 8th/MSG, and I’ve been obsessed with the atmosphere since March Madness started on the 6th! By the way, so many news reporters have been camped outside our building reporting on the day/evening games, and I’ve been schmoozing with all of them! I LOVE IT! :-)

On the other hand, this was midterms week, and for most college students, this week is so draining. Haha, I’ve been running on caffeine fumes! I’m up to like 4 big coffees a day.. is that even healthy?! Now, instead of whitening my teeth twice a day, I do it 4 times, haha!

What did you think about yesterdays weather? WE OFFICIALLY REACHED 70!! So many of you Facebook/Tweeted me about your plans and how nice it was! Thanks for thinking of me, keep it up! :-) It was a really fun day, RA Khiry and I went bike riding in Central Park, woohoo! :-) There’s a video of our bike trip on my Facebook, so check it out! :-)

To relax after this hectic week, I’m escaping to LI for the weekend! I keep telling most of you to head out to the island for the day and explore! Even though it’s suburbia, it’s still a lot of fun, and the beaches are great! With this 60-65 degree weather sticking around for awhile, it’s fun to explore in the sunshine and semi-warmth! Next weekend is my colab. event with RA Khiry, which is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade!! YOU BETTER COME! :-)

Have a good weekend NYers! I’ll write back on Tuesday!

Leap Day always confuses me…

Posted in Uncategorized on March 3, 2012 by

Happy Month of March, NYers!!

Wait.. I’m still dying over the fact that it’s MARCH already!! That whole ‘Leap Day’ stuff really confuses me for some odd reason, but never the less, an ‘extra’ day to live is always a positive thing, right? ;-) But now it’s the month of March, and in my opinion, the hardest month to get through. Do you agree with me on that one? For some reason this month always seems to drag by, knowing April is right around the corner creates a mental countdown in my head for Spring!

Not going to lie though, this winter has been amazing! We’ve seen unlimited weeks of 50-55 degrees and sunny, when just 75 miles north of the city has been covered in snow! I guess you can say us NYers are lucky! ;-) The weather man said this morning that this coming up Thursday is supposed to be 63 degrees! The best part is, I’m off Thursday.. so I might be tanning in Central Park! Scratch that, I WILL be tanning in Central Park! ;-) If you have the day off, feel free to let me know, I’d love some company at the park! :-)

So this weekend is technically my power weekend! Even though it was cut short, I’m working 10 hours today. Within those 10 hours I would love some company.. and coffee… and maybe a bagel! ;-) Hahahaha regardless, please stop by and say hello! Also, tomorrow is my Hot Yoga event at Yoga For The People!! :-) I’m super excited, so make sure you sign up in the office today to reserve your spot! 104 degrees while ‘stretching’ for an hour.. yuupp, I’m down!! :-) Keri-ann, our NYer RD, and I are going out after work tonight to get new yoga outfits! :-) :-) You know I’ll be looking fly.. while sweating, a lot! Ew!! Oh well, we’ll all be in the same boat anyways!

See you around! xoxo

Wait.. did you just say ‘March?’

Posted in Uncategorized on February 28, 2012 by

While overlooking my RA schedule this morning, I realized that this week kicks off the beginning of MARCH!

I’ll say this right off the bat, I can’t believe it’s practically March already! I feel like the older I get, the more time flies by, and that alone is scary! I’m no longer in my teens, and my twenties are starting to feel more like a daze then real life! Do you ever get the feeling that there are not enough hours in the day to do ANYTHING?! Haha! :-) If only I could invent a ‘stop-time’ machine… maybe one day!

On the other hand, March is valuable for two major reasons:

1. NCAA March Madness

2. My Mum’s birthday!

As I’ve mentioned before, NCAA Men’s College Basketball is my life, and March Madness is what gets me through the looonnnnggg month! I’m a Syracuse girl at heart, just because I’m from there, but I’m also partial to Duke…

Another amazing reason I love March, is because March Madness, and the Big East Tourney, are here at MSG, which is  located RIGHT NEXT DOOR!! :-) :-) :-) This is the best time of year, because fans from every walk of life flock to NYC to be apart of March Madness! Better yet, I constantly hear screaming and cheering outside my window, and that’s how I gage if it was a solid game, or a huuugee upset!

Last year I couldn’t score tickets to a game, but this year is completely different. I absolutely, positively, will be getting tickets this year… I just hope I can afford them! Which brings me to my next point, my Mum’s birthday! Haha.. maybe, just maybe, I can persuade her into going to a game for her birthday.. and have her pay for the tickets! ;-) She’s a huugee Broadway fan, but a big College ball fan as well.. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m going to see if I can score tickets the easy way. If that doesn’t work, I guess I’ll pay for them! ;-)

I’m working in the office from 10-5 today, so stop by and say hi! ;-) xoxo,

It’s an addiction…

Posted in Uncategorized on February 25, 2012 by

Alright kids.. I’m officially addicted to Twitter…

And if you don’t have one, I advise you to get one! I was very hesitant for about 2 years to get one, but I finally gave in and I LOVE IT!! It’s literally x10 better then Facebook once you get used to it, and the NYC updates are amazing!! Hahaha I always hash-tag #ManhattanProblems #nycgrlproblems, and so on and so forth. If you get one, follow me at:

theerealmas

Yay! :-) And of course, I’ll follow you back, haha! Anyways, I’m filling in the office for 3 hours for RA Courtney, and I’m sitting here pondering over my April event ideas! I really hope we can go to Insomnia Cookies, on my NYU campus, and then I’m trying to see if I can swing taking our residents to Jersey Boys, the Broadway show! What do you think? Are these some solid ideas? Message me/Tweet me if you have some ideas you would like to do for an event! Think of things that will get some solid attendance, too! The more the merrier! :-)

If you were wondering, my set in stone March events are:

Hot Yoga, Queens Botanical Gardens, and the St. Patties Day Parade with RA Khiry! :-)

Check the upcoming flyers for the dates.. because honestly, I can’t think of them off the top of my head, haha! It’s been a long week.. and from what I’ve heard, the same goes for most of you! This is by far the hardest semester I’ve had yet, and if I don’t get all A’s (like normal) I will freak out, because I’m working soooo much harder to keep my GPA a 4.0! Haha it’s not easy, people!! ;-)

How’s the semester going for you? With all of the mild weather we’ve been blessed with, it’s hard to decide what to do.. homework, or gallop in the field of Central Park and get a light tan. Man, that’s a really tough decision! ;-)

I’m in the office until 1, so come see me! Shout out to my ladies who visit me every shift, you know who you are! ;-) You keep me entertained for a good hour, and I love it!

xoxo,

Lonngggg weekend

Who doesn’t love this President’s Day long weekend? :-)

Hey dolls!

I literally just got home from my long weekend Upstate with my family and friends. My train got into Penn at 9:17am, and I had to be at work at 10am… needless to say, I rushed to get ready! ;-) No worries though, I’m finally back home and semi-settled, and working away in the office! :-)

A lot of you have family/friends visiting this weekend (I can tell by the overnight guest list, haha!) What have you been up to on your mini break? The weather has been absolutely fab, so I hope you all have been roaming around town! This weekend I’m thinking of going to the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market, so stop in the office and let me know if you want to go! :-) You never know what you’re going to find in Hell’s Kitchen, haha!

By the way, what do you all think of the latest painted merual of David Beckham outside our windows? HA… I know what all of us ladies think! ;-) Besides that, it’s amazing to watch them handpaint this 15 story high picture of whatever the advertisment may be. I’ve become friendly with the painters, and will occasionally wave to them from the EHS office! :-)

Well, I’m off to do some office work! Stop by the office to chat! I’d love to hear all about your weekend!

SkyRoom/TGIF

Posted in Uncategorized on February 17, 2012 by

Who else is pumped that it’s Friday?

Speaking of Friday, tonight is RA Sean’s SkyRoom party  for Kaplan! Actually, it’s open for all residents, so its no cover before midnight if you say ‘Kaplan’ at the door! If I wasn’t going upstate, I would definitely be attending, but I have some business to attend upstate, so I’ll be missing this one! :-( Next time, you’ll definitely hear and see me there! :-) What a gorge day, right? We’re back into the 50′s, after those couple days of rain.. yuck!

So, now that we’re all full swing into the second semester, how is school going for you? I’m not going to lie, this semester is a busy one for me! If you’re not in school and doing an internship, how is that going? :-) I’m sure you’re all doing well! I actually hanging out in the office right now until 7, working with RA Paul. RA Paul likes to act like we don’t get along, but he secretly loves me, and wants me to be his BFF forever! We have a major brother-sister relationship, so we mesh well! ;-)

Can you believe we’re almost done with February? Where is the time going.. and to think, I’m almost a JUNIOR!! I remember when I became an EHS blogger when I was a Freshmen.. man I’m getting old! I’ve been applying for internships for the summer, so wish me luck! I’ve got my eyes on this one amazing news organization that I would die to work for! Fingers crossed I get some Italian luck and score an interview! :-) Look at me.. talking about summer already and we’re in February! Well.. don’t hate on me tooooo much, because the weather feels like Spring! Way to go, Mother Nature!

Stop up by the Office to chatt if you’re bored! :-) Enjoy the weekend/SkyRoom!

Happy Valentines Day!

Posted in Uncategorized on February 14, 2012 by

What a fun-filled day of love here at the NYer!

Happy Valentines Day, NYers! :-) How is your day going? I just got back to the office from delivering Candy Grams to everyone’s secret Valentine! I hope you all are enjoying your day! For all of you that don’t have a Valentine.. don’t worry… 99.9% of American’s don’t anyways, so you’re not alone! Even though I have a boyfriend, I’m not to keen on the holiday to begin with. I feel as though if you love somebody, you shouldn’t just lather them with gifts one day, and forget about it the next. It’s a card company day anyways.. but it makes me happy regardless! :-)

Tonight is our NYer Cupid’s Revenge party, so I hope you all attend that! Whether or not you have a valentine, come to the party anyways! It will be a good time, and you can take the stress of today out by partying in the lounge! I’m working all day, and then I have class till late, AND THEN I’m going to see ‘The Vow’ with my boyfriend at like 10PM! What a long day, right?

Two nights ago our NYer RD’s, Keri-ann and James, RA Sean, and myself, went to go see The Vow, and it was great! Perfect timing for Valentines Day! Did you read the book? What did you think of the movie? Keri-ann and I were all set to sit there and cry our eyes out, but we actually didn’t cry at all! SHOCKER, haha! ;-) I think the moral of today is, know that someone, somewhere loves and misses you, and you’ll get through today in a classy fashion! :-)

Stop by the office if you want to chat, vent, or pick up your flowers! ;-)

XOXO!!

RA Group Process/The Dan Band

Posted in Uncategorized on February 12, 2012 by

What a looonnnggg weekk!!

Hey ya’ll!

I was very happy to spend my entire SaturDAY with my fellow EHS crew from every building in what we like to call, ‘group process.’ Yesterday was specifically meant for the upcoming RA positions open for EHS, so all of us current RA’s, staff members, and new applicants, spent an entire day together in Brooklyn!

I can’t tell you how many games we played, and how many pizza boxes EHS ordered for us during lunch time. It was really a great chance to meet people from all of the different EHS buildings around NYC! :-) If you went to group process, did you have fun? What was your favorite part? Let me know, and be sure to tag yourselves in the photos they took yesterday!

After that long day of fun, I went to Gramercy Theatre to see one of my favorite bands preform, The Dan Band. If you don’t know who they are, YouTube them, because it’s very difficult for me to describe them with words. Hysterical, insane, out of this world… yeah, just watch for yourself! ;-)

Anyways, I’ve never been to Gramercy Theatre, but its pretty famous, so check their website to see if they have any upcoming bands you like! :-) We sat in the second row dead front.. it was AMAZING! :-)

Tonight I’ve been given the opportunity to attend Carmen Marc Valvo’s Spring Line Fashion Show here in NYC for Spring Fashion Week! :-) :-) :-) You know I’ll be rockin’ that red carpet, hahaha! Hopefully I’ll be able to share some photos, but I’m not sure if security will allow that. If not, I have a bunch of photos from yesterday on my Facebook for you to enjoy!

Happy Sunday! xoxo,

SUPER BOWL CHAMPS/TICKER-TAPE PARADE!!!

Posted in Uncategorized on February 7, 2012 by

NEW YORK GIANTS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!!

That game was more than epic, it was a nail biter, the best game I’ve ever watched, and oh, by the way, THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THIS CITY!!! :-) After the clock struck zero, the entire city of New York went crazy, and I’m sure the tri-state area did as well! Die hard fans partied in Times Square, every Modells in NYC was crazy busy with fans buying Super Bowl Champ merchandise, and every sports caster was outside interviewing fans on their reaction. I guess you can say that night was an over all win, and it made me think that I could possibly get into sportscasting! ;-)

What were your thoughts on the game, NYers? I heard that the Super Bowl party here at EHS was a blast! I hope you all had a lot of fun, and a lot of food! ;-) What did you think of the halftime show? Hahaha, I’m not the worlds biggest Madonna fan.. so don’t ask me what I though, but other then that it was great! ;-)

Are you going to the Ticker-Tape Parade today? I WISH I WAS!! I’m working in the office, so I can’t go, but I wish I was!! I can only imagine how crowded downtown must be right now! Fans have been lining up since the wee hours of the morning.. now that’s dedication! ;-) I’m going to have to get myself some official Super Bowl merchandise now that NYC is on top again! :-)  Now we need to work on the Yanks, because if they win the World Series this year, NYC will be on cloud 9!! :-)

I’m telling you, this is the best place to live for many reasons, but right now especially, because the city bonds together like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We not only share our love for our sports teams, but we bond as a family, and it’s really remarkable! :-) Man, I love this city!!

If you’re attending the parade, make sure you take a lot of photos and send them to me! :-)

xoxo,
