Who doesn’t love this President’s Day long weekend?

Hey dolls!

I literally just got home from my long weekend Upstate with my family and friends. My train got into Penn at 9:17am, and I had to be at work at 10am… needless to say, I rushed to get ready! No worries though, I’m finally back home and semi-settled, and working away in the office!

A lot of you have family/friends visiting this weekend (I can tell by the overnight guest list, haha!) What have you been up to on your mini break? The weather has been absolutely fab, so I hope you all have been roaming around town! This weekend I’m thinking of going to the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market, so stop in the office and let me know if you want to go! You never know what you’re going to find in Hell’s Kitchen, haha!

By the way, what do you all think of the latest painted merual of David Beckham outside our windows? HA… I know what all of us ladies think! Besides that, it’s amazing to watch them handpaint this 15 story high picture of whatever the advertisment may be. I’ve become friendly with the painters, and will occasionally wave to them from the EHS office!

Who else is pumped that it’s Friday?

Speaking of Friday, tonight is RA Sean’s SkyRoom party  for Kaplan! Actually, it’s open for all residents, so its no cover before midnight if you say ‘Kaplan’ at the door! If I wasn’t going upstate, I would definitely be attending, but I have some business to attend upstate, so I’ll be missing this one! Next time, you’ll definitely hear and see me there! What a gorge day, right? We’re back into the 50′s, after those couple days of rain.. yuck!

So, now that we’re all full swing into the second semester, how is school going for you? I’m not going to lie, this semester is a busy one for me! If you’re not in school and doing an internship, how is that going? I’m sure you’re all doing well! I actually hanging out in the office right now until 7, working with RA Paul. RA Paul likes to act like we don’t get along, but he secretly loves me, and wants me to be his BFF forever! We have a major brother-sister relationship, so we mesh well!

Can you believe we’re almost done with February? Where is the time going.. and to think, I’m almost a JUNIOR!! I remember when I became an EHS blogger when I was a Freshmen.. man I’m getting old! I’ve been applying for internships for the summer, so wish me luck! I’ve got my eyes on this one amazing news organization that I would die to work for! Fingers crossed I get some Italian luck and score an interview! Look at me.. talking about summer already and we’re in February! Well.. don’t hate on me tooooo much, because the weather feels like Spring! Way to go, Mother Nature!

What a fun-filled day of love here at the NYer!

Happy Valentines Day, NYers! How is your day going? I just got back to the office from delivering Candy Grams to everyone’s secret Valentine! I hope you all are enjoying your day! For all of you that don’t have a Valentine.. don’t worry… 99.9% of American’s don’t anyways, so you’re not alone! Even though I have a boyfriend, I’m not to keen on the holiday to begin with. I feel as though if you love somebody, you shouldn’t just lather them with gifts one day, and forget about it the next. It’s a card company day anyways.. but it makes me happy regardless!

Tonight is our NYer Cupid’s Revenge party, so I hope you all attend that! Whether or not you have a valentine, come to the party anyways! It will be a good time, and you can take the stress of today out by partying in the lounge! I’m working all day, and then I have class till late, AND THEN I’m going to see ‘The Vow’ with my boyfriend at like 10PM! What a long day, right?

Two nights ago our NYer RD’s, Keri-ann and James, RA Sean, and myself, went to go see The Vow, and it was great! Perfect timing for Valentines Day! Did you read the book? What did you think of the movie? Keri-ann and I were all set to sit there and cry our eyes out, but we actually didn’t cry at all! SHOCKER, haha! I think the moral of today is, know that someone, somewhere loves and misses you, and you’ll get through today in a classy fashion!

What a looonnnggg weekk!!

Hey ya’ll!

I was very happy to spend my entire SaturDAY with my fellow EHS crew from every building in what we like to call, ‘group process.’ Yesterday was specifically meant for the upcoming RA positions open for EHS, so all of us current RA’s, staff members, and new applicants, spent an entire day together in Brooklyn!

I can’t tell you how many games we played, and how many pizza boxes EHS ordered for us during lunch time. It was really a great chance to meet people from all of the different EHS buildings around NYC! If you went to group process, did you have fun? What was your favorite part? Let me know, and be sure to tag yourselves in the photos they took yesterday!

After that long day of fun, I went to Gramercy Theatre to see one of my favorite bands preform, The Dan Band. If you don’t know who they are, YouTube them, because it’s very difficult for me to describe them with words. Hysterical, insane, out of this world… yeah, just watch for yourself!

Anyways, I’ve never been to Gramercy Theatre, but its pretty famous, so check their website to see if they have any upcoming bands you like! We sat in the second row dead front.. it was AMAZING!

Tonight I’ve been given the opportunity to attend Carmen Marc Valvo’s Spring Line Fashion Show here in NYC for Spring Fashion Week! You know I’ll be rockin’ that red carpet, hahaha! Hopefully I’ll be able to share some photos, but I’m not sure if security will allow that. If not, I have a bunch of photos from yesterday on my Facebook for you to enjoy!

NEW YORK GIANTS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!!

That game was more than epic, it was a nail biter, the best game I’ve ever watched, and oh, by the way, THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THIS CITY!!! After the clock struck zero, the entire city of New York went crazy, and I’m sure the tri-state area did as well! Die hard fans partied in Times Square, every Modells in NYC was crazy busy with fans buying Super Bowl Champ merchandise, and every sports caster was outside interviewing fans on their reaction. I guess you can say that night was an over all win, and it made me think that I could possibly get into sportscasting!

What were your thoughts on the game, NYers? I heard that the Super Bowl party here at EHS was a blast! I hope you all had a lot of fun, and a lot of food! What did you think of the halftime show? Hahaha, I’m not the worlds biggest Madonna fan.. so don’t ask me what I though, but other then that it was great!

Are you going to the Ticker-Tape Parade today? I WISH I WAS!! I’m working in the office, so I can’t go, but I wish I was!! I can only imagine how crowded downtown must be right now! Fans have been lining up since the wee hours of the morning.. now that’s dedication! I’m going to have to get myself some official Super Bowl merchandise now that NYC is on top again!  Now we need to work on the Yanks, because if they win the World Series this year, NYC will be on cloud 9!!

I’m telling you, this is the best place to live for many reasons, but right now especially, because the city bonds together like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We not only share our love for our sports teams, but we bond as a family, and it’s really remarkable! Man, I love this city!!

Big Blue has two days to make me the happiest women ever!

Alright.. well I’m not the worlds biggest football girl, but I am super excited for the game this Sunday! I feel that I have a lot of emotions in this game, and if we lose, I’ll be crushed!

Who’s pumped for the EHS Superbowl party? We just got an email of all the food that’s going to be at the party, and it’s a pretty hefty amount! Pizza, wings, subs, soda, and much more is what you can expect at the party! I’ll probably go to the lounge around 4PM to get a solid seat and hang out with some friends before hand, so you’re more then welcome to come and hang out!

I’m in the office until 10, and I have some work to do, so come visit!

4 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE SUNNDAAYY!

As a New Yorker, I am overly excited for this Sunday! Obviously I’m cheering for the Giants, I mean who isn’t?! I made an ‘NYU 4 NYG’ sign that’s hanging up in my room, and I need to go get a tee shirt for the game! Who are you rooting for? Better yet, where are you going for the game? I hope you consider staying with us at the NYer, because our Super Bowl party is going to be a great time! Hope to see you all there!

Well, it’s been a transition back into this new semester, but I think I have it down! How’s the start of your new semester? I’ve heard from a lot of you that your schedules are pretty solid this Spring, and I’m happy to say that mine is the same! Speaking of Spring.. DID YOU GO OUTSIDE TODAY?! It was a high of 62 degrees in Manhattan today! Is that even possibly for February 1st? I guess so! I ate lunch outside and took a nice stroll to bask in the weather! Now that the weather is getting warmer and warmer, it looks like I’ll need to come up with some solid outdoor EHS NYer events in Central Park!

Thanks to all who came to my Milkshake Mingle event on Monday! About 60 residents came to my event, and I was very pleased that you all took the time out of your night to get a yummy milkshake! Were they good? I hope so! Tomorrow night (Thursday) is my Tie Dye event! There is a twist though.. it’s a School Spirit Tie Dye event! For example: I go to NYU, so I will be dying my shirt purple, because my school colors are purple and white! I think it’s going to be a fun event, and I hope most of you can make it! Details are on your floor bulletin board!

Hey dolls, I’m home!

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes, they really made me smile! I just got back home to the NYer, and I’m so relieved to be back in my own bed, haha! I had a very relaxing birthday, but now it’s time to get back to work.. literally! Second semester has officially started, and I’m thrilled! Having that much time off and no NYU made me sad! Anyways, I’m fully prepared to dominate this semester! 4.0 HERE I COME… AGAIN!

I’m in the office right now getting acquainted back into the swing of things! I made a hug mix tape of a million songs so I can jam out while working, and it’s great to be back with all of my fellow RAs!

RA Khiry and I celebrated my birthday last night, and it was a blast! How was the Pizza Social last night? I was going to go, but I had a bunch of unpacking to do! If you know anything about me, I’m not a ‘light’ packer in any way, shape, or form!

The next event in wicked excited for is the Super Bowl party, here at the NYer!! GO GIANTS!! Can you believe that we’re in the Superbowl this year? WOOOOHOOO!!! I’m really not a huge football fan, but when it comes to a NY team, I’m so involved! Now I just need to get a Giants shirt! Anyone want to go shopping?

PS- this Saturday is our ‘Classy Cooking’ event. Hahahaha, that event name cracks me up! Who doesn’t want to stay classy while cooking?

I haven’t forgotten about you followers, I promise!

Talk about a busy week! I’ve had some family visiting this week, so I haven’t really been around to much! Actually, tomorrow I am leaving for a mini-cation to get some fresh air and celebrate my birthday! The big day is next week, Wednesday to be exact, so I’m celebrating with some family and friends!

Last night I went to go see Anything Goes, with Sutton Foster, and it was AMAZING!! I completely reccommend you seeing that show, it’s what Broadway is all about! Beforehand we had dinner at Carmines, which never disappoints!

This week is two for one ticket prices on Broadway, and it’s also Restaurant week! Check out the website, just google: NYC Restaurant week, and it will give you a list of all the restaurants participating in resturant week! I’m pretty sure that goes until February 12th!

I will be back next Wednesday, so I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Who’s ready for Soul Fixins?

Hey Guys! My first event in January is tomorrow, my trip to Soul Fixins! If you don’t know about Soul Fixin’s, you need to! It’s probably one of the best hidden restaurants here in NYC, and it’s a go-to place to eat! They specialize in actual southern food, example: legit mac and cheese, chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, corn, etc. The list can go on and on when it comes to Soul Fixins! Also, they have the best lemonade ever! The best part is, they’re just blocks away from the NYer! They’re located on 28th between 7-8th, so if you can’t make the event, go on your free time!

On Sunday I’m also doing the Launrdy party! EHS is paying for a free wash and dry for your clothes, so make sure you head down to that as well! 5PM on Sunday in the Launrdy room! I will have detirgent and fabric freshner for the event, so no need to bring your own!

By the way, I can’t wait for this arctic weather to leave the city! I’M SO COLD!! I hope it warms up for my birthday, which is in 12 days! I will make sure to take a bunch of photos of my special day!

As many of you NYers have noticed, I’m working tonight, and allllll day tomorrow, so please come see me! If you bring coffee, you’ll be my best friend.. and if you don’t.. I guess I’ll still like you! Haha, I’m just kidding, I’ll be fine! I’ve done this so many times now, I’m immune to it! I’m in the office tonight until 10pm, so stop by!
