It’s almost May!! :-)

Posted in Uncategorized on April 25, 2012 by

So what’s up with all that snow up north? IT’S ALMOST MAY!!

So as most of you know, originally I’m from upstate New York (even though I’ll never fully admit that, haha) and they actually just got hammered with a foot of snow from this random weather we’ve been having! Thankfully, us NYers dodged a bullet in the weather department and got a much needed soaking of straight rain! Now, the sunshine is out, and the temps are back up.. thank goodness! :-)

I’m leaving for NC in 2 days, WOOHOO!! I can’t wait to have some fun in the sun with one of my besties!! :-) She has a puppy, named Skittles, who is the CUTEST dog in the world, other then my baby boy, Chase! Mind you, I posted a new picture of Chase on my Twitter/Instagram, so go check that out!

Tonight is one of my favorite events of April, The Mac Bar event! I’m not really sure what it is, but all I know is that it’s this resturant/bar that serves all different kinds of Mac and Cheese! At this point I’m pretty upset, mainly because I’m lactose and I can’t eat any dairy..aka cheese, but I might go and just weather the storm! Are you going to the event? I hope to see you there!! :-)

Well I’m working until 5 today, so come see me! :-) I’m training one of our new RA’s, Laura, today! Come up and meet her, she’s fab! <3

One week till North Carolina!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 18, 2012 by

Woohoo, I can’t wait till my mini vacation!! :-)

So, as many of you know, I’m going to visit one of my best friends in NC next week, and I cannot wait! I’ve been buying so much stuff for the trip, and I’m only bringing a carry on.. haha! I had a bad dream that I lost my luggage on the connecting flights to NC, and the only thing I could wear the whole trip was shorts and a t shirt!  YUCK! So, I’m going to roll every piece of clothing and pack as light as I can.. which will be a huge stretch for me!

This vacation comes at a solid time though, because its the weekend before my last two weeks of school! I still can’t believe I’ll be a junior, and that I’ve been blogging for EHS since I was a Freshmen! This vacation marks my last ‘hoo-rah’ for my Sophomore year! :-)

I’ll still be living with EHS this summer, and I’ll be taking some summer courses as well! I’m going to try and get as many courses done this summer as possible, but still leave some room for my sanity! Haha! What are your plans for the summer? Are you interning, working, or livin’ it up with nothing to do? Ahh.. I remember those days.. lazy summers, not working and cruising around with my friends in my convertible. Yuuupp.. those days are LONG GONE!! ;-) The day reality hits you feels like a ton of bricks, haha! Whatever you do this summer, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun!

I’m in the office all day, from 10-5:30, and then I have class until 9! To answer your question, yes.. I’m already tired! Come visit if you’re bored! xoxo,

What a gorgeous weekend ahead of us! :-)

Who’s ready for this July-like weather? I AM! :-)

Man oh man, after working 10 straight hours today, I cannot wait to have the next two days off.. aka the best weather days of the year so far!! :-) Can you believe that Monday is supposed to reach 86?!?! WHAT!! Hello July weather! :-) I will be in Central Park, frolicking through Sheep’s Meadow! :-) What are you planning on doing during this fabulous stretch of great weather? If you’re searching for things to do, think about taking the NYC water-taxi!! It will be a great day to be on the water! :-)

On Friday I shot a promo commercial for EHS, that will hopefully be posted on the website this coming up Monday! It was a lot of fun shooting the promo, and it was my first time in Brooklyn in awhile! Speaking of Brooklyn, how many of you are making the trek out there tomorrow night for the EHS Prom? I’m going early and setting up decorations! For once I won’t be dressing up, mainly because I’ll be working, so expect to see me in basketball shorts and a tee-shirt!  No worries, I’ll still break it down on the dance floor! ;-) Yikes… hahahaha watch out, kids!

I only have 3 more weeks of school left, and I’m officially a Junior! Oh my goodness, have the years flown by!! I feel so old.. and NYU feels like a home that I never want to leave. Maybe I’ll just be a college student, forever!? No.. I want a job! :-) Who know’s, maybe I’ll try getting a job in a Florida market, where its warm and sunny all year round! That is a solid possibility.. but hopefully I can start and work my way up in the NYC broadcasting market! Regardless, I’m so excited to be able to call myself a ‘junior.’ WOOOHOO!

So, are you following me on Twitter yet?! If not, you should be! Remember: theerealmas is my name! :-)

Come visit me if you’re not outside enjoying this gorgeous weather! :-) xoxo,

Hope you had a great…

Easter/Passover! :-)

As most of you know and have seen on Facebook and Twitter, I GOT A PUPPY!! And yes.. he is the cutest thing to ever walk on this Earth.. other then me! ;-) Haha just kidding.. but seriously!! :-) Anyways, I originally thought he was going to be a very aristocrat type of pup, but he is the exact opposite!! He is a little mayhem monster! At first, before I met him, I wanted to name him Kingsley, because that’s a very regal type name.. but then I met him, and realized he loves to chase everything! This could be because he’s a Border Collie, and they like to herd things, but anyways, I named him Chase! His nicknames consist of: Chase-man Chase-a-doodle, Chase the Ace, Chaser, Chasey, and so on and so forth. You get the point! :-)

So that was my Easter weekend, meeting the new pup and spending it Upstate with my family! It was a very relaxing get-away! So what did you end up doing for the holiday? I’m sure the city was pretty dead considering most people travel out of the city for major holidays. If you really want to see the city completely dead, wait until the 4th of July! NOBODY IS HERE!! It’s like a ghost town! We all reside to the Hampton’s, Montauk, some go to the Jersey Shore.. but on the flip side, it’s the best time to get things done! :-)

Yes.. I will be here over the summer, woohoo! :-) The events EHS has over the summer are insane! It’s definitely the best time of year to live with EHS, because it’s so nice outside, and as I mentioned, the events are awesome! I’m talking, top of the Empire State Building, top of the Rock, Water Taxi to the Statue of Liberty, kayaking in the Hudson, etc! WOOHOO! :-)

Well I’m working until 5:30, so come see me! xoxo!

I’m not MIA, I promise!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 4, 2012 by

Hi Dolls! :-)

As my title says, I promise I’m not MIA! My Mum was here for a week to celebrate her birthday and do some things for work! We had a fabulous time, and I got a lot of free groceries, Broadway tickets, and even a monthly MetroCard out of it! ;-) Hahaha, isn’t that the beauty of having your parents come to visit you in NYC? ;-) :-)

Anyways, we went to the Broadway show, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and it was fabulous! Mathew Broderick, aka Ferris Bueller, aka Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband, is the star of the show! It was a very long show, 3 hours to be exact, and they could cut a little from Act I, but other then that, it was great! Mathew was so cute in this role, and the rest of the cast was fabulous as well! Kelli O’Hara, from South Pacific, was also in the show as well! She’s always been an icon to me, and her voice is spectacular! :-) I would recommend seeing it ASAP!

During that week we also got mass amounts of Carmine’s takeout… I’m still full from all the broccoli we ate! Usually my Mum and I get an order of Penne and Vodka, and a side of broccoli. If you know anything about Carmine’s, you know it’s served family Italian style, so one order feeds between 8-10 people! In me and my Mum’s case, that lasts us about a week, hahaha! Anyways, since I gave up mostly everything for Lent, I cannot have pasta, so we only ordered broccoli. The amount of veggies they give you is equivilant to about 5-6 lbs of food.. and 5-6 lbs of broccoli is A LOT OF BROCCOLI! On the other hand, I’m not complaining one bit, it was delicious, and probably the most healthy dinner I can think of! :-)

My Mum stayed in the hotel portion of the NYer, and I loved her room! It over looked One World Trade Center, 34th and 8th, and the Hudson River, all perfect views! It was funny, because since she was on the 36th floor, I could look across the street into the apartments next door to the NYer. I was literally sitting on the window pane  for hours just people watching in their apartments. Yes.. that does sound creepy, but hey, their window were left WIDE OPEN! ;-) This one lady had a baby grand piano in her living room, and just sat there playing for hours! Another guy had like a boxing ring set up in one of his rooms, and this one family had the most modern furniture in their apartment! It looked way to nice and clean to even sit on! That’s probably why they were standing the whole time, haha! Regardless, those apartments across the way are probably thousands and thousands of dollars a month! Each person had their own deck, perfect views of the Empire State Building, the Hudson River, the Statue of Livery, One World Trade, etc., so I really cannot wait to live there! ;-) Until then, I’ll be here in the NYer, trying to make it big!

Now it’s back to reality.. paying for my groceries, going to class, and having to do my OWN LAUNDRY! Waahh.. no worries, I go upstate this weekend for Easter, and most importantly, to pick up MY NEW PUPPY!! I’m sure you all have seen the pictures I’ve posted on Facebook/Twitter! The breeder is so sweet and keeps sending us fabulous photos of my baabbyyy!! We better name him Kingsley, or I’ll be mad!! ;-)

So, here’s the deal, I DO NOT work Tuesdays and Fridays any longer! I now work Wednesday DAYS and Thursday NIGHTS! So please plan accordingly and come visit! ;-)

ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL NC!!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 27, 2012 by

Yaayyy!! I can’t wait to go to North Carolina!

One month today is when I leave NYC to spend a relaxing long weekend in North Carolina with my best friend! :-) Wooohooo!! This is going to be a great way to relax and get away before finals week… not to mention I need a tan!! Don’t we all?!

Now that Monday has passed, thank goodness, how is everyone’s week turning out? I work today, from 12-5, and then I have class until 9, and theeennnn I have a late night EHS meeting! After all of that, I’m going to the gym and doing laundry! I say that now, but in all reality will that really happen?! Ehh.. I don’t know! ;-) Actually, it needs too, because I have sooo much laundry to do, and I haven’t been to the gym in a few days, so this ‘slacking’ period of mine needs to cease!

Less than two weeks away till we pick up our new born puppy!!!! :-) :-) :-) I’m going to spoil that little rascal so much! I’m thinking of buying him bunny ears for Easter! Any thoughts?! Hahahaha! Poor baby… ;-)

Come see me! :-) 17th floor, you know where I am! xoxo,

Battery Park City/ SURPRISE!!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 26, 2012 by

If you haven’t been to Battery Park City, I suggest you go!

The other day I headed down to BPC for the day, and it was absolutely gorgeous! For the longest time I kept telling myself I would take the day and stroll along the river, but I never found the time to do it! Finally I woke up and said to myself, ‘That’s it.. I’M GOING!’ and next thing I knew I hopped on the E-train and headed downtown!

Most people forget about Battery Park City, because it’s masked by One World Trade Center, but once you pass the craziness of that area, you end up next to the water with a perfect view of the Statue of Liberty. Of course I took a minute to reflect on 9/11, but it’s always a mad house down there with the tourists and all. I like to think of Battery Park City as a secret gem in NYC, because it really is a sight to see!

Anyways, I took a lot of photos, and I got to the point where I just made an entire new album for my Instagram pictures! You can find that and much more on my Facebook page! :-)

Alright.. onto the big surprise you all have been waiting for.. guess what?!!? I GOT A NEW PUPPYYY!!!!!!! :-) :-) :-) Of course, I posted his photo on my Facebook and Twitter for all to see, but he is a new born Border Collie, and is so precious!! He will be living upstate with my family, but he’s a pure bread, so hopefully we can show him!! Ya never know.. maybe he’ll win the Westminster dog show at MSG!! ;-) He can’t go home until Easter, so I’ll be heading upstate that weekend to go meet him!! Yaayyy!! :-) Thank goodness the hotel side of the NYer is pet friendly, because the puppy will be visiting all the time!!

We still haven’t thought of a name for him yet, but it has to be something very aristocrat! I’m thinking something along the lines of Duke, King Charles, York (after the NYC Ave.,) Kingsley, Henry… ahh I have no clue!! Just something cute, that’s all! :-)

I work tomorrow in the office from 12-5, so come stop by and say hello! :-)

Happy 1st day of Spring!!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 20, 2012 by

Woohoo!! Who’s excited for Spring?!

Actually, with the way the weather has been acting, it feels more like late spring early summer to me!! Unfortunately I’m busy for the entire day, so I won’t be able to enjoy this ‘official’ day, but tomorrow I’m going to Central Park with one of my oldest best friends, and I can’t wait!! We’re planning on lying out in Sheep’s Meadow, and having a nice little picnic! You know the photos will be posted ASAP on Facebook and Twitter, so no need to worry! ;-)

Do you have any fun, outdoorsey, plans for this week? I’ve seen a few of you post some gorge photos of your walks through Central Park, keep them coming!! :-) I have an idea.. if we get 12+ people to go to Central Park and either play kickball, basketball, frizbee, etc., I will make it an EHS event! Maybe afterwards we can go get some ice cream?! :-) Oh wait.. I gave up sweets… No worries, I’ll bring sugar free ice cream for myself! ;-)

My Spring Break is officially over, but I know a lot of the city schools’ breaks are coming up. Are you planning on going anywhere fun in the sun, or are you spending your break in NYC? At the end of April, right before finals, I’m taking a mini-vacation to North Carolina, to see one of my best friends! I’m so white, so that means I need to start laying out, but I’m super excited to go! :-)

If you’re stuck on places to go during your Spring Break, check out Long Island! I know I’ve said this before, but it’s a great alternative and a breath of fresh air from NYC! Not to mention it takes 30 minutes to get to one of the beaches from Penn Station, so I would consider it if I were you! Since I am a Long Island master, haha, come to the office if you have any questions about what you could do on the island! :-) I’m here today from 12-5 so come see me! :-)

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day, and remember.. smile! It’s Spring time!! :-)

About St. Patty’s day…

Posted in Uncategorized on March 18, 2012 by

On a scale on 1-10, how amusing was your St. Patrick’s day?

Not going to lie, Khiry and I didn’t end up going to the parade, and I stayed in ALL day watching the NCAA tourney! Haha, I looked at my phone at about 9pm last night and thought to myself, ‘I’ve been sitting here ALL DAY watching basketball.. really?’ It’s seriously an addiction of mine, and I need to get focused because school starts tomorrow! Speaking of school.. I have a huge homework assignment due that I should probably get on, haha! Thank goodness I remembered! ;-)

Anyways, I read most of your St. Patrick’s Day stories online, and the photos were priceless! Needless to say, the majority of you had a more exciting day then I did! I’m not complaining though, I could watch basketball all day! :-) Which leads me to my next point.. I need to get down to West 4th St. soon and play some ball! Last time I was there was with one of my best friends, Kyle, and we didn’t realize we were shooting around with Raymond Felton, an NBA basketball player! You never who you’ll meet down at W4S, that’s the best part about it! Sometimes you see college recruiters there, and other times you watch the best pick-up games of your life! Yup… as you can tell I’m all about basketball lately.

I’m randomly working today, to cover a shift for RA Sean, so I’ll be in the office 11-6! Stop by anytime if you’re bored or just want to chat! :-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend, NYers!!

NCAA Tourney

Posted in Uncategorized on March 16, 2012 by

Other then Christmas, this is the best time of the year!!

March Madness is college hoops at its finest, and I’m so obsessed with this tourney! Even though I didn’t make a bracket this year, I’m still confident in my final four picks! did you make a bracket this year? If so, Facebook me, and let me know who your final four picks are! I have a lot of friends who’s brackets are already messed up from last night, haha! Tonight, Duke plays, and I’m going to miss it because I’m in the office.. wahh!! But, that’s were CBS Sports comes in, because I’ll be refreshing the page every 3 seconds!

On top of all of that, St. Patrick’s day is tomorrow, and Khiry and I are doing an EHS event at the parade! I hope most of you can attend, I think it’s going to be a fun time! :-) My only downfall. I don’t own anything green.. and I’m not Irish, so I’m probably going to be that awkward person standing in the crowd, haha! If you own anything green, stop by the office and let me know if I can borrow it! :-)

I’m working in the office from 6-1opm tonight, and blasting the Pandora ‘Summer Hits of the 90s’ play list! If you’re into the 90s, definitely stop by and jam out with me! :-) If you have any solid plans for St. Patties day, let me know on The New Yorker Facebook page! :-)

xoxo,

MA
