Hi Dolls!
As my title says, I promise I’m not MIA! My Mum was here for a week to celebrate her birthday and do some things for work! We had a fabulous time, and I got a lot of free groceries, Broadway tickets, and even a monthly MetroCard out of it!
Hahaha, isn’t that the beauty of having your parents come to visit you in NYC?
Anyways, we went to the Broadway show, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and it was fabulous! Mathew Broderick, aka Ferris Bueller, aka Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband, is the star of the show! It was a very long show, 3 hours to be exact, and they could cut a little from Act I, but other then that, it was great! Mathew was so cute in this role, and the rest of the cast was fabulous as well! Kelli O’Hara, from South Pacific, was also in the show as well! She’s always been an icon to me, and her voice is spectacular!
I would recommend seeing it ASAP!
During that week we also got mass amounts of Carmine’s takeout… I’m still full from all the broccoli we ate! Usually my Mum and I get an order of Penne and Vodka, and a side of broccoli. If you know anything about Carmine’s, you know it’s served family Italian style, so one order feeds between 8-10 people! In me and my Mum’s case, that lasts us about a week, hahaha! Anyways, since I gave up mostly everything for Lent, I cannot have pasta, so we only ordered broccoli. The amount of veggies they give you is equivilant to about 5-6 lbs of food.. and 5-6 lbs of broccoli is A LOT OF BROCCOLI! On the other hand, I’m not complaining one bit, it was delicious, and probably the most healthy dinner I can think of!
My Mum stayed in the hotel portion of the NYer, and I loved her room! It over looked One World Trade Center, 34th and 8th, and the Hudson River, all perfect views! It was funny, because since she was on the 36th floor, I could look across the street into the apartments next door to the NYer. I was literally sitting on the window pane for hours just people watching in their apartments. Yes.. that does sound creepy, but hey, their window were left WIDE OPEN!
This one lady had a baby grand piano in her living room, and just sat there playing for hours! Another guy had like a boxing ring set up in one of his rooms, and this one family had the most modern furniture in their apartment! It looked way to nice and clean to even sit on! That’s probably why they were standing the whole time, haha! Regardless, those apartments across the way are probably thousands and thousands of dollars a month! Each person had their own deck, perfect views of the Empire State Building, the Hudson River, the Statue of Livery, One World Trade, etc., so I really cannot wait to live there!
Until then, I’ll be here in the NYer, trying to make it big!
Now it’s back to reality.. paying for my groceries, going to class, and having to do my OWN LAUNDRY! Waahh.. no worries, I go upstate this weekend for Easter, and most importantly, to pick up MY NEW PUPPY!! I’m sure you all have seen the pictures I’ve posted on Facebook/Twitter! The breeder is so sweet and keeps sending us fabulous photos of my baabbyyy!! We better name him Kingsley, or I’ll be mad!!
So, here’s the deal, I DO NOT work Tuesdays and Fridays any longer! I now work Wednesday DAYS and Thursday NIGHTS! So please plan accordingly and come visit!
xoxo,
MA
