California Dreamin’… Next Stop: UCLA
We had the great pleasure of visiting the gorgeous campus of University of California – Los Angeles a couple weeks ago. UCLA is one of nine campuses of the University of California and occupies over 415 acres, with more than 38,000 students from all over the world.
The University has a central Career Center that serves as a resource hub for almost all of
those students. To keep up, the Career Center has a dedicated team of over 30 people providing students with everything from one-on-one guidance to several large career fairs throughout the year. The Center is spacious and full of friendly faces and great resources so UCLA students feel less overwhelmed when exploring internship and career opportunities.
We also stopped by the Law School’s Career Services, located in the beautiful building to
the left. We were welcomed by the friendly Carrie Chow, who suggested we check out her local favorite spot Damon & Pythias for lunch. We very smartly took her advice and enjoyed a delicious fresh wild strawberry salad with a side of garlic fries on the side (you know, to make sure the meal wasn’t TOO healthy).
Dozens of UCLA students have stayed with EHS while interning in NYC during the summer, proof that the University’s Career Services teams are doing an excellent job. We had a fantastic time learning more about what they do to help their students and hope to be back to visit soon. Check out our photos and some fun facts we learned below!
UCLA Fun Facts:
The university is home to many distinguished professors and has produced many successful graduates, including athlete Jackie Robinson, basketball great Kareen Abdul-Jabbarand and band members from The Doors, Maroon 5, and Linkin Park.
